Hello everyone, I’m Darius Simon from Kenya and the Founder of Bitcoin Kitui and Bitcoin Ukambani.
I’m a graduate of school of Business and Economics from South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) 2015-2019.
I discovered Bitcoin in 2019 after Campus, it’s always funny enough to me how i never heard it anywhere in my 4 Years of studying Economics at SEKU, there’s no single lecturer ever mentioned it.
This is something that has sparked the fire in me to want to be a change to the rest of students, to want to teach them the Bitcoin because the institution isn’t doing that. So i began interacting with Students and just doing random education since 2023.
This year i learnt of Bitcoin circular economies and was motivated to finally come meet a community that has had the same drive like the drive that has lasted in me for so long. So I launched Bitcoin Kitui and Bitcoin Ukambani. I was so encouraged by other Bitcoin projects happening in my country like The Bitcoin Core and Afribit Kibera.
I’m fully dedicated to helping in Bitcoin education and I’m very glad to find the right community to work with.
Here for the long run .
Welcome Darius. Very nice and interesting introduction. Incredible that in this time no one spoked about BTC in the university. This helps us to double the efforts to be heard. Regards from Uruguay, where the silence is also too loud!!
Great to meet you all and glad to be part of My First Bitcoin.
My name is Francisco, I am originally from Argentina but have been living in Queenstown, New Zealand for the past 8 years.
As most of you can relate, Bitcoin has become a very important part of my life as it has improved my life in more ways than one, opening my eyes to how the current system exploits millions for the benefit of a few.
That is what inspired me to start Bitcoin Journey, a project focused on providing quality Bitcoin education to whoever wants to learn. I host group and individual workshops where I teach the fundamentals of Bitcoin and the importance of self-custody.
I host these workshops in the local community of Queenstown (both in English and Spanish), and I also host the monthly meetups.
I am planning to attend Plan B in El Salvador, so I would love to meet the team from My First Bitcoin and thank you for the incredible work you are doing worldwide.
Thank you so much for introducing yourself, Francisco and welcome!
What you’re doing sounds amazing!
Here on this Hub, you’ll be able to connect with like-minded people.
Feel free to explore the Hub, including the wikis and forums.
We’re glad to have you with us!
Really happy to be here and to finally connect with the Mi Primer Bitcoin Community! Thanks @Arnold for connecting.
I’m Sena Ami, cofounder of Bitfiasi — a grassroots Bitcoin education initiative based in Ghana. I work mostly with women and underserved communities, helping them understand self-custody, sound money, and how Bitcoin can be a real tool for independence.
Right now, we are building a circular economy, from one community to the next, where Bitcoin isn’t just saved, but actually spent and earned within local communities. It’s early days, but the energy on the ground is real!
I’m here to learn, share, and grow alongside all of you.
Excited for what we’ll build together!
Brief about me:
• I’m recently graduated chemical engineer
• i started my Bitcoin journey 2024.
• i do a lot of beginner friendly Bitcoin events in India( Bitcoin India Tour), already did 26 events in phase-1 and doing phase-2 in 50 cities
• I’m also trying to build a self custody alternative of exchanges in india for Bitcoin investors(SwapSo)
Here is my story:
I started this January
Reason of starting was simple, i wasted a lot of my time into ■■■■■■■■■■■ because i was introduced to that only and in india there are very few Bitcoin only events(that too technical).
So i thought to start something to introduce people to Bitcoin from a financial perspective and why they should consider it important.
We did phase- 1 of this tour from January 2025 to april 2025
• 26 events(all offline and only bitcoin events)
• 5500+ attendees across India
Now we are doing Phase-2 from August in 50 cities and expecting atleast 10000 attendees
Thank you for telling us more about you and your efforts, Karan! Welcome to the Hub! whenever you have some questions, or when we can do something for you - please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
