8. Organizing your first meetup

A secure way to take your first step as an education project is to invite a few people and organize a meetup.

What makes it so great for an introduction to Bitcoin education is that you need neither a dedicated space nor a definite schedule. You can go to your local café and occupy a table (bonus points if you onboard the cafe owner first!)

To help you organize your first meetup, we created this guide that will walk you through all the necessary steps to make it a success and grow your local community.

We also created the Introductory Course that will help you onboard your attendees to Bitcoin in less than an hour! The first half of the presentation is about understanding what money is, why it is broken, what the consequences are for individuals and society, and how Bitcoin solves these issues. The second half is a guided activity to help your attendees download their first Bitcoin wallet and receive their first bitcoin.

You can download the Intro Course here.

Once you get the ball rolling, you can turn your first meetup into a recurring event, attracting ever more attendees. You can then invite them to your first class!
