5. Start Your First Cohort

Once you’ve trained and prepared your team, it’s time to take the next big step, starting your first cohort of the Bitcoin Diploma. This moment marks the beginning of your journey as an educator, and it’s where theory becomes a real impact.

The Bitcoin Diploma is usually taught over ten sessions, one per week, each lasting about 90 minutes. Every session focuses on one chapter: from “What is Money?” to “An Introduction to the Technical Side of Bitcoin.” This rhythm allows your students to reflect, ask questions, and grow week after week.

Begin by deciding where and how you’ll teach. A physical classroom offers stronger connections and a sense of community; a virtual one offers flexibility and reach. If you need something more robust, My First Bitcoin also offers access to our Online School, ideal for tracking progress and hosting multiple courses.

If you’re interested in setting up a virtual classroom through our Online School, please reach out to reyna@myfirstbitcoin.org, and we will help you get started with the Bitcoin Diploma preload. Please add Arnold in cc: arnold@myfirstbitcoin.org.

Once your environment is ready, enroll your students. Share your class invites on social media or within your local community, even small groups are a great start. Tag My First Bitcoin, so we can amplify your work! Use the Educators Lesson Plan and the presentation slides to guide each session, and encourage active participation through questions and activities.

Teaching your first class may feel like a challenge, but it’s also one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll have. Every student you teach becomes part of a growing movement toward freedom and self-sovereignty through education.

When you’re ready to begin, everything you need to organize and launch your first cohort is available.

Finally, make sure you benefit from the knowledge in the Education Network. If you’re looking for co-tutor, please request help in the Community forum, or text Arnold via arnold@myfirstbitcoin.org.
