The My First Bitcoin Education Network is a global alliance of independent Bitcoin educators and grassroots projects working together to bring independent and Open Source Bitcoin Education to the World.
It began with a simple idea, that education can spark real change.
My First Bitcoin started teaching in El Salvador in 2021, and within just a few years, that spark grew into a worldwide movement. Today, dozens of projects across more than 40 countries are using our free and open source materials to teach Bitcoin in their own languages, online and in person, from classrooms to community meetups.
Each project in the network operates independently but stays connected through shared values:
-
Independence with zero external influence.
-
Impartiality.
-
A community-based approach.
-
Bitcoin-only focus.
-
Empowerment over profit.
-
Commitment to quality.
The My First Bitcoin Education Network is self-governing, educators from every region meet regularly in Monthly General Assemblies to share proof of work, exchange ideas, and support one another. This collaboration strengthens local impact while building a truly global movement. We share best practices, exchange resources and ideas and share challenges. All with the same motto: give more away than you take away.
There are two types of Communities in the Education Network. Light Nodes are education projects officially part of the network, sharing resources and benefiting from mentorship and collaboration. Full Nodes take on greater responsibility, guiding governance, voting on new members, and upholding the consensus rules that protect the network’s integrity.
Together, these communities represent the next chapter of Bitcoin adoption: working locally, connected globally, and united by a shared belief that independent education will change the world.
