My First Bitcoin is the leading Bitcoin Education non-profit in the world. We believe that Bitcoin Education will change the world, but not just any kind of education. We are building a global movement of Open Source Bitcoin Education. A movement that is independent, impartial, and community-led. With education that empowers individuals, businesses, and communities with the knowledge and tools to understand money, gain financial literacy, and learn the deeper lessons that Bitcoin teaches us: critical thinking, personal responsibility, and ultimately sovereignty.
Our story began in 2021 as a grassroots movement in El Salvador, where we started teaching about Bitcoin in classrooms and communities. We quickly realized that accessible and impartial education could have a transformative impact. That’s why we created a complete educational curriculum, free and open for anyone, anywhere, so others could replicate and adapt it to their local context. Everything we build reflects the future we hope to help create: a world where knowledge is open. Where people have agency in their life. And such empowerment begins with education.
Believing that education is the first step toward empowerment, we have built a complete ecosystem of programs and tools designed to equip educators with the knowledge, structure, and confidence to teach Bitcoin effectively, beginning within their own communities.

Today, My First Bitcoin is a global educational initiative present in more than 40 countries, dedicated to creating and sharing resources that anyone can use to teach Bitcoin and empower their peers. All our materials are free, adaptable under the CC 4.0 license, and open source, those principles that will always remain at the heart of everything we do.
Our goal is simple: to make impartial Bitcoin education available to everyone, everywhere, without compromise or external influence. We refuse sponsorships that could affect our independence and are proudly supported by the Bitcoin community itself, proof that collective action can build something powerful and lasting.
